Deutsche Telekom incubator Hub:raum has started a new programme in Tel Aviv and Berlin, designed to attract Israel-based technology intensive seed stage start-ups. Hubraum’s explicit intention is to persuade Israel-based start-ups that European markets represent a viable alternative to the United States for commercialisation.
Hub:raum has set up partnerships with accelerator programmes from TheJunction and TheTime in Tel Aviv. The first start-up is Screemo, which enables users real-time personalized interaction between digital screens, social media and their smartphones.
Companies accepted on the programme must grant Deutsche Telekom an option to participate in a future financing round as co-/follow-on investor with up to €300k.
Min-Kin Mak, senior vice president at Deutsche Telekom and head of Hub:raum, said: “We know the start-up ecosystem and the in-depth technological know-how here in Israel, and hold this in high regard. We are able to open doors for the start-ups within Telekom and partner companies, giving them a further push towards success. In this way, we want to make use of synergies and bring products to the European market together.”
