Heriberto Diarte reported his departure from the US corporate venture capital fund SE Ventures, a subsidiary of French multinational energy management company Schneider Electric.

Diarte’s departure will allow him to focus on future investments in climate tech and sustainability.

As well as launching SE Ventures and overseeing many of the fund’s exits, Diarte held various positions such as a board member for an Australian solar energy company, Clipsal Solar.

SE ventures specialises in startups that are early stage or entering seed rounds. The corporate fund has been responsible for 34 direct investments and three exits. Its investments include US software developer Aquant, a provider of service intelligence and data extraction for service leaders and data teams.

In October 2021, the unit reportedly raised $70m in its series C funding, a round which was led by Israel-based venture capital fund Qumra Capital, taking its total aggregate to $110m.

Parent company Schneider Electric focuses on energy management and digital automation and targets a range of sectors from homes to data centres. In July the company launched a digital educational platform to address the skills gap in the energy and IT sectors.

In response to his departure, Diarte commented on LinkedIn: “I am so proud of creating SE Ventures from scratch, including building a world-class team.”
