Japan-based recruitment platform operator DIP Corporation has chosen six artificial intelligence (AI) technology developers for the eleventh cohort of its three-month accelerator and incubator scheme, AI.Accelerator.
Reference signal technology producer Adansons, machine learning software provider AvintonJapan, logistics optimisation system startup Datumix, customer retention system developer Mont-Riche, business trip management platform Synapse and deepfake audio technology provider Voiceware made up the list.
Formed in 2017, AI.Accelerator has picked 77 AI-focused startups from more than 650 applications received over the past 10 batches.
Three graduates joined accelerators Zeroth.AI and Techstars, another was acquired in an M&A deal and 58 companies in total have raised subsequent funding from investors, DIP said.
The corporate offers mentoring to participants through advisers and business specialists who will present the technologies developed on the demo day at the end of the program.
DIP will provide roughly ¥5m ($45,000) to ¥100m ($915,000) for each startup, though the acceptance of investment is not compulsory. It selected seven companies for the 10th batch of AI.Accelerator last month and the initiative is now accepting applications for a cohort that will enter in March 2020.
