DirectScale, a US-based direct and social marketing software developer backed by enterprise software publisher NetSuite, has secured a $8.5m series B close led by venture capital firm Grotech Ventures.
Fellow early-stage VC firm Origin Ventures and VC fund Kickstart Seed Fund also participated in the round. Kickstart and NetSuite co-led DirectScale’s $4m series A round in 2015, and the startup is also listed as a portfolio company of VC fund Service Provider Capital.
DirectScale has created a management software suite for direct and social marketing businesses, with features such as performance monitoring, occupational training and customisation. The funds will be used to further develop DirectScale’s sales, marketing and products.
Rodger Smith, chief executive of DirectScale, said: “DirectScale is meeting the unique challenges of direct and social sharing companies head on.
“We are providing a desperately needed [software-as-a-service] solution for the rapidly growing peer-to-peer social commerce space. This investment keeps DirectScale on the path to market dominance.”
