DispatchHealth gets Acute investment

US-based home healthcare provider DispatchHealth has received $30.8m in a funding round co-led by venture capital firms Questa Capital and Alta Partners that included hospital manager Acute Care Solutions.

Founded in 2013, DispatchHealth operates a service that allows users to describe their symptoms using its app, website or phone service so that the company can connect them to a healthcare partner who can deliver care in their home.

DispatchHealth will invest the proceeds from the round, which included undisclosed existing investors, in growing its platform. The company has not revealed details of its earlier funding.

Mark Prather DispatchHealth’s co-founder and chief executive, said: “There is a growing body of literature that suggests in-home care delivery produces superior outcomes, and this is consistent with our experience.

“To date, we have produced over $20m in medical cost savings and our results are amplified by our ability to create optimised care plans while viewing, first-hand, the patient’s surroundings and social determinants of health. This model is needed in every market across America.”
