DoubleVerify ticks boxes to $33m

Genacast-backed online media verification company DoubleVerify has secured $33m in funding from a range of private equity and venture capital (VC) firms.

The round was led by private equity firms JMI Equity and Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) with participation from VC firms Blumberg Capital and First Round Capital.

Genacast, a corporate venturing affiliate of telecommunications and broadcasting conglomerate Comcast, made its initial investment in DoubleVerify’s series A round, which raised $3.5 in May 2009.

DoubleVerify secured $10m in a March 2010 series B round led by IVP with contributions from previous investors, although since these investors were unnamed it is unclear whether Genacast was among them.

The verification service DoubleVerify provides for advertisers involves checking  websites for appropriateness and ensuring advertisements are correctly placed on the page. The capital will further fuel the growth of DoubleVerify, which has expanded from 30 to 160 employees in the last year.
