US industrial group Dow Chemical’s corporate venturing division has backed US-based solar power group NuvoSun’s latest round of funding this year.
NuvoSun raised $20m from Dow, according to a regulatory filing first seen by news provider VentureWire.
The company had previously raised $9m from the chemicals group earlier this year, with the money expected to start a factory for thin-film solar cells that could fit with Dow’s roof tiles.
David Parrillo, senior research and development director at Dow Solar Solutions and a former director of its ventures division, is the only external board member at NuvoSun.
