DreamIt Ventures, the incubator and seed-stage venture firm backed by broadcasting company Comcast, unveiled the latest 12 start-ups to have completed its three-month incubation programme, at its New York Demo Day today.
The three-month programme provided all 12 participants with resources, between $10,000 and $30,000 in seed funding and access to networks on investors. They are the first start-ups to be incubated by DreamIt under managing director Andrew Ackerman.
The 12 graduates are:
Local activity and tours marketplace Tourlandish, where users can book last minute experiences in New York.
Online presentation creator Slidebean.
Zairge, a property management system for hotels.
Browsy, an add-on for Pinterest users which shows where to purchase pinned items on its boards.
Reminder app Acorn, which lets users set time and location sensitive notes.
PicSell, an app that sells customers’ items on their behalf on Ebay, Amazon and other retail sites.
Fiestah, an online marketplace for planning events, where all vendors can be booked and paid for on the same platform.
Mobile app Balloon, an invite platform where personalised invites, which expire at a set time, can be sent to nearby contacts.
Investormill, a service which claims to be the “fastest way to find economic data from trusted sources”.
Uvore, an app which allows customers to order and pay for food on their smartphones.
Bar & Club Stats, an electronic ID checker that also compiles demographic data for marketing based on visitors the venue.
SuperSolver, a review app that also allows users to anonymously contact owners and senior management in a organisation. It is currently raising $2m in funding.
