Driivz arrives with $12m

Centrica Innovations, a corporate venturing subsidiary of energy utility Centrica, co-led a $12m funding round on Monday for Driivz, an Israel-based provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging technology.

The round was co-led by investment firm Ombu Group and included participation from Inven Capital, the venture capital fund that is owned by energy utility CEZ Group and backed by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Founded in 2012, Driivz provides cloud-based software that enables charging network operators, car manufacturers and utilities to manage EV charging infrastructure.

The platform assists in operations such as account management, energy management, analysis and reporting, billing, driver self-service apps and fleet management. Driivz said it is used by more than 300,000 drivers and supports more than 80 types of charging stations.

Centrica Innovations chairman Charles Cameron said: “Having already integrated their platform into our own intelligent EV charging offer, I have no doubt that Driivz will continue to play an important role in building the technology that will see e-mobility at the very heart of an energy future that is cleaner and more connected than ever.”
