Mechanical and plant engineering firm Dürr has acquired iTac Software, a Germany-based provider of manufacturing execution systems and a spinout of industrial equipment manufacturer Bosch, for an undisclosed amount.
The company spun out of Bosch’s telecommunications division in 1998, and raised €4.5m from Techno Venture Management, Equinet Venture Partners and Pari Capital Group in 2004.
More than 140 production facilities across the globe are equipped with iTac’s cloud-based software, which collects data from the factory and provides its operator with extensive real-time information covering factors like the rates of materials and energy consumption, cycle time and capacity utilisation.
