Ease onboards $41m in series C round

Ease, a US-based provider of human resources management software, raised $41m yesterday in a series C round featuring Propel Venture Partners, the venture capital firm formed by financial services firm BBVA.

Growth equity firm Spectrum Equity led the round, which included Centana Growth Partners, Freestyle Capital, Compound Ventures and Upside Partnership.

Founded in 2012 as EaseCentral, Ease is the creator of a software platform designed to help businesses onboard new employees and manage their benefits more easily. Employees can meanwhile use the system to access all their human resources information.

The company said it has now received more than $70m altogether, including $2.1m in seed funding from Deep Fork Capital, Freestyle Capital, Upside Partnership, Compound (then known as Metamorphic Ventures) and Transmedia Capital in 2015.

The last four returned for a $6.5m series A round led by Propel Venture Partners in 2017, before Centana Growth Partners led a $19m series B in early 2019 that included Propel Venture Partners, Compound, Freestyle Capital and Upside Partnership.
