EcoRobotix, a Switzerland-based weeding robot for agriculture, has raised SFr10.6m ($10.7m) in a series B round co-led by BASF Venture Capital, the corporate venturing unit of the chemicals company BASF, according to StartupTicker.
The round was co-led by Capagro, a biomass-focused venture capital firm backed by several agrobusinesses, and also featured 4FO Ventures, Business Angels Switzerland (BAS) and Investiere.
Founded in 2011, EcoRobotix is developing weeding robots for sustainable farming. The money will be used to expand across Europe.
The company previously raised $3m in series A funidng from 4FO Ventures and angel investors through BAS and Investiere.

“One part of this is the investment in artificial intelligence-based technology platforms like the one offered by EcoRobotix.”
