Internet company Baidu has led a $100m series B round for Edaixi, the China-based operator of a laundry services app, 36kr reported today.
The round also featured SIG China, a local subsidiary of technology and trading firm Susquehanna International Group, and venture capital firm Matrix Partners.
Edaixi, which was launched by China-based laundry service Rongchang in 2013, offers a service allowing users to have their laundry picked up, washed and dried, and delivered back within a 72-hour period.
The service can be accessed through messaging app WeChat, as well as Ediaixi’s own website and app. It was present only in Beijing as of November 2014, but at the time planned to expand into additional cities.
The funding follows a $20m series A round featuring SIG and Matrix that closed in November 2014. Internet company Tencent, the owner of WeChat, and Rongchang supplied $3.2m in seed funding for Ediaixi in July 2014.
