Egnyte, a US-based file sharing company backed by search engine Google’s corporate venturing unit, has agreed to buy Poland-based software peer Bema for an undisclosed amount.
Egnyte said it would expand the Poland-based team by a factor of four over the next 12 months.
Vineet Jain, founder and chief executive of Egnyte, said: “Egnyte has a growing customer base of over 30,000 companies and a million users located all over the world.
“As part of Egnyte’s continuing growth, this acquisition will help us further broaden our solutions and expand our global footprint in development and support.”
In July last year, Google Ventures helped Egnyte raise $16m and was joined in the series C round by venture firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Polaris Venture Partners.
Egnyte was founded in 2007 and is also backed by the Floodgate fund.
