EN-Japan, a Japan-based online recruitment firm, resolved on Thursday to acquire a 60% stake in India-based recruitment agency New Era for Rs 345m ($5.8m).
EN-Japan is investing in New Era as part of an overall strategy to expand globally, and cited India’s high population, relatively young age and 5% GDP growth rate as incentives to target an Indian company.
The company will acquire the shares from Arvind Sehgal, who owns 90% of New Era. EN-Japan plans to buy up the other 40% in 2016, at which time New Era will become a full subsidiary.
