Energy storage system producer Enphase Energy purchased Sofdesk, a Canada-based provider of solar system sales software, for an undisclosed amount yesterday, allowing power generator manufacturer Generac Holdings to exit.
Founded in 2013, Sofdesk has built a software platform that helps businesses manage and accelerate the sales of rooftop solar power systems and renovation services.
The company received $2.3m in series A funding from EnerTech and BDC Capital in 2017 before both returned in a $4.3m series B in late 2019 that was led by Generac Holdings and also backed by Desjardins Capital.
Emphase’s president and chief executive, Badri Kothandaraman, said: “We are thrilled to join forces with Sofdesk. Our companies share a commitment to transform the solar industry with advanced technology.
“We are delighted to welcome Sofdesk’s installer partners to Enphase and look forward to working with the talented team at Sofdesk to help reduce solar soft costs and improve the overall installer experience.”
