Estevez Latasa leaves Next47 for Iris Capital

Itziar Estevez Latasa, a former principal at Germany-based industrial conglomerate Siemens’ Next47 corporate venturing unit, has joined France-headquartered venture capital firm Iris Capital as a Germany-based partner.

The move comes after nearly a decade spent in corporate venturing at Siemens for Estevez Latasa, initially at Next47 predecessor Siemens Venture Capital.

Estevez Latasa’s exits had included software management platform Black Duck, which was acquired by Synopsys for $565m in late 2017, and Thinkstep, which was purchased by risk management services provider Sphera earlier this year.

In a separate hire, Marc Auberger has joined Iris Capital as managing partner, alongside Curt Gunsenheimer and Erik de la Rivière. Auberger had previously spent 15 years in various positions at French government-owned investor Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC).
