EW Scripps gains journalist Ebyline

Ebyline, a US-based online marketplace for freelance journalists and publishers, has raised $1.5m in its series A round New York-listed trade peer EW Scripps.

Ebyline publicly launched in September after being founded by Los Angeles Times media executives Bill Momary and Allen Narcisse with the help of local angel investors.

Mark Contreras, senior vice president of newspapers for Scripps, said: "Ebyline gives news publishers a way to streamline and simplify the distribution of content, allowing them to reinvest in their core business — quality content."
