Andy Conrad, former CEO of Verily Life Sciences (Verily), a research organisation owned by Alphabet, has joined S32, a venture capital firm founded by Google Ventures (GV) founder and ex-CEO Bill Maris.
Conrad had an extensive career at Google, holding positions at Google Ventures and GoogleX. He also worked with Deepmind and Google Cloud.
Conrad will be a general partner at S32, focusing on investing in enterprise software, AI and health technology.
Conrad was the chief scientific officer at LabCorp, a US-based clinical laboratory. He cofounded the National Genetics Institute, which was acquired by LabCorp.
S32 invests in technologies across a range of sectors including IT and healthcare. This year it closed an oversubscribed $525m Fund 5.
“S32 has an extraordinary platform, and I am excited to join the team and work with entrepreneurs growing businesses aimed at improving the human condition,” said Conrad in a press statement.
