EyeSight, an Israel-based developer of embedded computer vision technology, has received $15m in a funding round co-led by Jebsen Capital, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of marketing and distribution group Jebsen.
Financial services firm Mizrahi-Tefahot and venture capital firm Arie Capital co-led the round with Jebsen. It increased EyeSight’s overall funding to $50m, the company said.
Founded in 2005, EyeSight produces computer vision and artificial intelligence-powered interfaces that facilitate in-car applications as well as touchless control of connected household devices.
The company’s projects include a computer vision-powered driver monitoring system that watches for signs of driver fatigue or distraction by evaluating factors such as gaze direction, pupil dilation and eye openness.
EyeSight raised $20m from conglomerate Kuang-Chi in 2016, five years after microprocessor maker Ceva and Mitsui & Co Global Investment, a CVC vehicle for diversified group Mitsui, had co-led EyeSight’s $4.2m series B round, which included existing angel investors.
