Social media company Facebook will be one of the founding partners of Station F, a startup incubator located in Paris, France, TechCrunch has reported.
Applications for Station F have been open since December 2016. It will launch operations in April 2017 and is located on a huge campus that will have space for some 3,000 desks,
Facebook will take 80 of those desks and will work with between 10 and 15 startups, providing weekly workshops and help with engineering, marketing and technical development through an initiative called Startup Garage from Facebook.
The first batch of participants to be assisted by Facebook through Station F includes digital identity management startup Chekk, geographical bookmarking tool Mapstr, health and fitness app The Fabulous, online activity organiser Onecub and carpooling app Karos.
Station F’s other partners include e-commerce company Vente-Privee, business school HEC, venture capital firm Ventech and VC funds Daphni and Kima Ventures.
