Customer relationship management software producer Salesforce has exited Israel-based email platform developer Redkix in an acquisition by social media company Facebook that sources told Globes was about $100m in size.
Redkix has created an enterprise-focused collaboration platform that brings together email and group messaging, allowing members not in a messaging group to work with its members through emails.
The company’s technology will be integrated into Workplace, the collaborative platform introduced by Facebook in 2015 which now has 30,000 businesses among its users.
The transaction comes after $17m of funding disclosed by Redkix in 2016, the cash having come from Salesforce’s corporate venturing unit, Salesforce Ventures, as well as venture capital firms SGVC and Wicklow Capital.
Redkix co-founders Oudi and Roy Antebi said in a joint statement posted on Redkix’s website: “Bringing people closer together is at the core of Facebook. Workplace brings this mission to enterprises to make them more connected and productive.
“We are aligned with their vision and excited to work with them to help companies collaborate and get work done.”
