Field Nation, a US-based platform to manage freelancers and projects, has obtained $30m in equity funding led by Susquehanna Growth Equity, an affiliate of quantitative trading firm Susquehanna International Group.
Incorporated in 2008, Field Nation provides a software-as-a-service platform for businesses to manage outside contractors and projects, handling the entire process from procurement to payment.
Field Nation will use the funding for product development and increased marketing efforts. The company also hopes to enter new vertical markets and double its staff, particularly focusing on its sales and marketing, development and technology teams.
The round marks the first time Field Nation has sought outside investment. The company secured $150,000 from unnamed individuals in 2011, according to a regulatory filing.
Ben Weinberg, director at Susquehanna Growth Equity, said: “We are thrilled to be working with [chief executive Mynul Khan] and the whole Field Nation team.
“We are deeply impressed by the company they have built and believe there is an enormous opportunity for growth as they continue to address the many needs of buyers and providers of contingent work.”
