US-based FieldLens, the creator of a mobile field management tool for use in the construction industry, has closed an $8m series A round that included reinvestment from Softbank Capital, the corporate venturing unit of Japan-based telecommunications company Softbank.
The round was led by OpenView Venture Partners and included participation from existing investors including Softbank, High Peaks Venture Partners, Lerer Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, Borealis Ventures and NYC Seed.
The round brings FieldLens’ total disclosed funding to date to $12.2m, after it closed a $2.7m venture round in 2013 and a $1.6m seed round the previous year in which Softbank Capital invested.
Launched commercially in March 2014, FieldLens is a mobile field management app designed to help construction professionals effectively document, assign and manage jobsite issues online using any smartphone, tablet or internet connection.
This funding will help FieldLens accelerate product adoption while continuing to develop new features for its users.
