France-based construction management app Finalcad has secured $40m in series C funding from investors including Salesforce Ventures, the investment arm of customer relationship management software producer Salesforce.
The round was led by venture capital firm Draper Esprit and also featured Aster Capital, the VC firm funded by industrial groups industrial technology producer Schneider Electric, power and automation product maker Alstom and chemicals supplier Solvay.
Venture firm Serena Capital, VC fund CapHorn Invest and Cathay Innovation, the VC arm of private equity firm Cathay Capital, also took part.
Founded in 2012, Finalcad has developed a mobile platform that enables site managers, foremen and architects to manage the construction and maintenance processes required for construction projects.
The app allows users to communicate and collaborate on blueprints, tasks and safety procedures. Finalcad will use the money to expand in Europe and the Asia as it looks to provide versions for areas such as energy and operations and maintenance services.
Aster Capital co-led the company’s $20m series B round in 2016 with Serena Capital and CapHorn, following $2.4m in series A capital from Serena two years earlier.
Salesforce Ventures partner Alex Kayyal said: “After examining the construction tech industry, we decided to invest in Finalcad because of its innovation and drive to scale globally. We are excited to be part of bringing construction tech to our customers.”
