One of the most common requests we receive at Global Corporate Venturing is requests for help from new units being set up or from new venturers joining a team at a senior level about best practices in terms of software and technology that can assist them in their jobs.
As a result, we are undergoing a review of these service providers in order to offer our readers some details to start making a comparison of what is most suitable for them. This will all be part of our revamped website with a special services directory listing providers across a number of different specialities, from legal to due diligence and accounts to consulting as well as software to help groups invest, forecast and consolidate their deals for reporting and analysis.
At the start of this review, I’ll be moderating on November 28 at 11am EST a sponsored webinar with one of the service providers, Relevant EquityWorks.
I’ll be asking Ray Haarstick, chief executive of Relevant, about how a corporate venturer can investigate the best deals; catalogue her investments and monitor performance; forecast upcoming cash needs; create a consolidation report for the venturung unit’s parent; and determine if and when to follow on in later rounds.
The days of groups being able to rely on excel sheets should be in the dim and distant past and groups and groups that utilise the best service providers will have an edge over their peers that remain wedded to the past.
Please let us know your questions and thoughts about which service providers we should be reviewing and what you consider to be best practice.
