Firefly Games, a US-based mobile game publisher that counts electronics producer GuangZhou WinHi as an investor, has raised $10m in funding, VentureBeat has reported.
Financial services firm China Construction Bank led the round through its International Holdings division, investing alongside investment holding company China Credit Limited Holdings. The round valued Firefly at $100m, it told VentureBeat.
Founded in early 2015, Firefly aims to bridge the Asian and US mobile game markets by translating and releasing popular Asian games in the US. It recently created a development team and its first title is set to be a mobile game based on an as yet undisclosed Hollywood property.
Firefly is also working on an eSports streaming app and is establishing a subsidiary that will translate international virtual reality content for the Chinese market. It raised $8m from GuangZhou WinHi, Skyocean International Holdings and Ceyuan Ventures in February 2015.
