Fireglass sets series A round alight with $20m

US-based enterprise cybersecurity technology developer Fireglass has raised $20m in a series A round featuring Singtel Innov8, the corporate venturing arm of telecom company Singapore Telecommunications.

Venture capital firms Norwest Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners also invested in the round, as did angel investors Mickey Boodaei and Rakesh Loonkar, co-founders of financial services cybersecurity company Trusteer.

Fireglass is working on scalable network security software that prevents web attack surfaces by both individual users and applications. Founded in 2014, its first product is set to be announced by the end of March this year.

The startup will put the capital toward expanding its research and development and growing its sales, marketing and support teams in North America and Europe.

Guy Guzner, chief executive of Fireglass, said: “Fireglass is extremely honoured to partner with this influential group of investors, and we believe this round of investment validates the advancements Fireglass has achieved in the cybersecurity world.

“We are seeing an outstanding response from deployments at Fortune 500 enterprises looking to boost and consolidate their existing protection measures, and we are proud to offer a solution that enables businesses to operate both productively and securely.”
