Canada-based electricity and gas provider Fortis has joined US-headquartered investment firm Energy Impact Partners(EIP)’ strategic partner network, Nexus, and will provide it with funding.
EIP acts as a collaborative strategic investment firm, partnering energy utilities to invest in companies developing technology that optimises energy consumption and enhances sustainable power generation.

“Fortis’ nine operating utilities throughout North America are focused on responding to customer needs. In doing so, we are actively committed to innovation and investigating emerging technologies in the utility sector, which will reduce costs and enable us to deliver reliable energy safely to our customers.”
Other Nexus members include energy utilities Southern Company, Ameren Corporation, Great Plains and Xcel Energy, and power transmission infrastructure operator National Grid.
