Jen McCabe, formerly a US-based director of investments and strategic business development for Taiwan-headquartered contract electronics manufacturer Foxconn since 2016, has joined fertility startup Future Family.
Future Family, which provides fertility services including egg freezing and in vitro fertilisation, hired McCabe as head of business development. It raised $10m in an October 2018 round that featured telecommunications firm Verizon’s BBG Ventures unit.
During McCabe’s time at Foxconn, the corporate invested actively in mobility-focused companies including electric vehicle developer Future Mobility, bicycle rental service provider Mobike and ride-hailing platform operator Didi Chuxing.
Foxconn’s portfolio also includes US-based blockchain startups such as digital currency wallet developer Abra and blockchain-equipped identity verification technology developer Cambridge Blockchain.
McCabe was previously a director of business development and alliances at supply chain electronics manufacturer Flex’s US-based innovation unit from 2015 to 2016, overseeing investments in the robotics space.
McCabe also has entrepreneurial experience, having founded Factorli, a mid-level consumer electronics manufacturing hub backed by US-based real estate and development investment firm DTP, in 2013.
