India-based online clothing retailer Smile Group has seen one of its incubated portfolio companies raise $4m from venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.
Freecultr, an online apparel start-up launched two weeks before the funding.
Sequoia previously invested in Smile’s Fashionandyou.com, which has raised $48m, while corporate venturing units including Nokia Growth Partners and Intel Capital backed its sister site, Dealsandyou.com, with $17m.
France-based bank Crédit Agricole has spun off its venture capital unit so it can invest in more local companies.
Investment firm Coller Capital has agreed to acquire the Crédit Agricole Private Equity (Cape) for more than €300m ($400m).
