Frog hops to venturing partnership

US-based design services provider Frog has formed a services-for-equity partnership with seed-stage venture capital firm Tuesday Capital.

Founded in 1969, Frog helps enterprises hone their brand, product and go-to-market strategy, also lending assistance in digital products, connected hardware design and delivering quality customer experiences.

The partnership means future Tuesday Capital portfolio companies will be able to commission Frog for their design strategy in exchange for equity. The firms will also collaborate on dealflow, due diligence and founder support.

Frog commenced dealmaking in 2015 and now has 18 active investments with a combined valuation of more than $1bn. They include ride hailing service Alto, commercial coffee roaster supplier Bellwether Coffee and financial planning app developer Charlie Finance.

The firm began collaborating with Tuesday Capital as a co-investor in 2014, more recently handing over eight portfolio stakes to back Tuesday as a limited partner. In 2016, Frog was entrusted to rebrand the VC firm from its former moniker of CrunchFund.

Tuesday Capital is currently investing from its fourth fund and has a total of $100m under its management having made more than 250 deals to date.

Andy Zimmerman, president of Frog, said: “This partnership will greatly increase the number of early-stage startups that can benefit from our offerings, network and collaborative approach – and will provide frog much broader reach into the startup ecosystem.

“It will also provide a huge benefit to our large corporate clients, as we advise them on how to infuse entrepreneurship and disruptive models into their business strategies.”
