Wireless networking technology manufacturer Fujitsu Network Communications is set to exit Canada-based networking systems and software provider BTI Systems in an acquisition by networking technology producer Juniper Networks.
BTI supplies network infrastructure technology to carriers, service providers, content providers, colocation providers and cloud infrastructure companies, and has more than 380 customers across 40 countries.
Juniper plans to combine BTI’s team and product offering with its switching and IP routing capabilities, improving the open and automated packet optical transport applications that integrate with its software-defined networking products.
BTI had raised about $60m in equity funding since it was founded in 2011. Its other investors include the Canadian government-owned BDC and Export Development Canada, Bain Capital Ventures, Covington Capital, GrowthWorks and Kodiak Venture Partners.
Juniper has not revealed how much it has agreed to pay for BTI. The transaction is expected to close by the end of June 2016.
