General Mobile (G-Mobi), a Taiwan-based mobile firm, has raised $5m from a consortium including Singapore’s national phone ooperator’s corporate venturing unit.
Alongside SingTel Innov8 in the round was Japan-based conglomerate Mitsui. News provider Nikkei had earlier said SingTel would take 12% with Mitsui taking 19%.
The investors join local chip maker MediaTek in backing G-Mobi.
