US-based sales analytics software provider Gainsight closed a $50m series D round yesterday that included Salesforce.com’s corporate venturing unit, Salesforce Ventures.
Private equity and venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners led the round, which also included Battery Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Summit Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Gainsight has built a software platform that helps sales staff track and access customers more thoroughly, helping strengthen sales, marketing and product management. The company said yesterday it had achieved 252% year-on-year growth in the third quarter of 2015.
The round brought Gainsight’s overall funding to about $105m. Bessemer and Lightspeed provided $25m in October 2014, adding to investment including a $20m series B round in 2013 featuring Salesforce Ventures, Summit, Battery and Bain Capital Ventures.
