Christina Brinck joined Volvo Group Venture Capital (VGVC), the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Sweden-based automotive manufacturer Volvo, as investment director in May 2021.
VGVC is focused on investing in technology-based innovations in areas such as autonomous driving, energy optimisation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence and more.
Initially formed in 1997 as Volvo Technology Transfer, the firm’s current portfolio includes companies such as electric vehicle digital service platform Driivz, autonomous driving testing platform Foretellix, real time logistics tracking company FourKites, wireless charging company Momentum and vehicle cybersecurity technology provider Upstream.
Prior to joining VGVC, Brinck spent 24 years at the Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP6). Between 1997 and 2012 she was investment manager for direct investments across various sectors and serving on the boards of portfolio companies.
She then served as investment director of fund investments at AP6 from 2012, sourcing and managing a portfolio of buyout and venture funds, focusing on driving sustainability.
She holds a master’s degree in industrial economics and engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
