Matt Parmett is a principal at Echo Health Ventures, the US-based corporate venturing vehicle for healthcare provider Cambia Health Solutions and health insurer Blue Cross North Carolina. He helps the team conduct all aspects of the investment activity including deal sourcing and evaluation as well as transaction management and execution.
Echo CEO Rob Coppedge said of Parmett: “Matt has been ascendant since joining Echo in 2018, having been already promoted twice and making numerous contributions in deal execution and portfolio management. He has been a key contributor in the underwriting and ongoing governance of DispatchHealth, Genome Medical, Heartbeat Health and FastMed.
“Matt’s execution capabilities and sound judgment have positioned him as a rising star both within the Echo organisation and the broader corporate venture world.”
Parmett’s role primarily involves delivering financial and market support that helps move investment initiatives and decisions forward in addition to growing Echo’s portfolio companies. He sits on the boards of home care service Dispatch Health, telehealth technology developer TytoCare and urgent care provider FastMed, as an observer.
His experience with multiple health systems and non-profit academic medical centres, helped him acquire insight into the enterprise healthcare model. He utilises his expertise and perspectives at Echo to bring innovation to the broader ecosystem by helping transformative companies grow. His knowledge of the health system universe has been instrumental to shaping investment themes that incorporate the provider perspective.
Before joining Echo in 2018 as an associate, Parmett had spent more than four years at investment banking firm JP Morgan’s healthcare investment group in New York, where he advised health systems on mergers and acquisitions transactions and partnerships, and structured over $15bn of taxable and tax-exempt debt financing.
