Yvonne Lutsch is an investment principal at Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC), the corporate venturing unit of Germany-based industrial group Robert Bosch and focuses on sourcing and evaluating investments across the US in different sectors.
Kurt Busch, CEO of Syntiant, a portfolio company of RBVC, said: “Yvonne combines super strong technical skills, with an attention to detail and commitment to fairness that made her very effective in helping us navigate the high bars that Bosch sets for strategic investments.
“Yvonne was later a board observer, and I found her to be a very engaged, enlightened and reasonable voice in the boardroom. I would certainly work with her again in any company I founded.”
Regarding her role, Lutsch said: “My responsibilities span from sourcing deals, conducting and managing the full due diligence – team, technology, market, financial and legal – and creating investment memos to advocating for my deals with the partnership.
“I actively participate in the decision-making process for all the investments we do from our funds within the worldwide RBVC team. I also contribute to the development of the investment strategy and thesis, as well as drive open innovation activities within the corporation.”
Describing one of her greatest successes while working at RBVC, Lutsch said: “A personal achievement I am proud of was to source, evaluate and close two deals within one year during covid, thus closing 22% of all deals in 2020 within a 20 people team.”
Prior to becoming an investment principal at RBVC, Lutsch held several management positions in quality management and engineering within Bosch in Germany in the automotive and consumer electronics space, and subsequently moved to the US in 2015 to build up a technology scouting, innovation, and business development team for Bosch Automotive Electronics in Silicon Valley.
