GE Ventures, a corporate venturing subsidiary of conglomerate General Electric, and Startup Health Academy, a coaching initiative of healthcare technology fund Startup Health, plan to welcome some 10 startups to their Entrepreneurship Program this year.
GE and Startup Health first began collaborating in 2013, when they selected 15 consumer health businesses for the initiative.
The startups will be selected over the course of the next year, focusing on the healthcare sector in general and in particular on areas including virtual health platforms and healthcare payment services providers.
Once selected, companies will be able to join Startup Health Academy for three years and will receive a $50,000 investment. They may also secure follow-on funding and will benefit from mentorship offered by GE Ventures executives and technology teams.
Startups are invited to apply by November 2, 2015. The call is also open to startups who have previously been, or currently are, part of Startup Health Academy.
