Gehry Technologies (GT), the US-based design and project management technology company co-founded by architect Frank Gehry, secured $10m in series B funding on Tuesday led by 3D design software developer Autodesk.
Also participating in the round were 3D and product lifestyle management software company Dassault Systèmes and additional unnamed private investors. The round brings Gehry’s total funding to $15m.
Gehry Technologies provides design and project management technology to clients across the building industry, and plans to use the financing to further develop its technology while also expanding its consultancy services.
Jim Lynch, vice president of architecture, engineering and construction solutions for Autodesk, said: "Autodesk believes that adoption and improvement of BIM (Business Information Modelling) processes is essential for the [architecture, engineering and construction] industry to realize the full value of BIM."
Lynch continued: "Given that GT is a leader in driving such process changes, we see this investment, which we announced last month as part of our strategic relationship with Gehry Technologies, as furthering the shared vision of improving the industry’s use of and returns from technology."
