Ascension Health Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous US-based medical care provider, has invested an undisclosed amount in GetWellNetwork, a local provider of patient care services.
Private equity firm Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe acquired GetWellNetwork at the start of the year. The portfolio company was founded in 2000 and has partnered with more than 100 healthcare providers across the US.
Michael O’Neil, founder and chief executive officer of GetWellNetwork, said: “With seven hospital system limited partners, AHV offers a unique healthcare provider and technology perspective that will add significant value to expanding and differentiating our solution.”
Jeff Stolte, investment manager at AHV, added: “GetWellNetwork’s proven Interactive Patient Care delivery model increases the probability of activating patients to take greater personal responsibility for their care.”
