General Motors has been awarded the title of most influential corporate venturing unit in the transport and logistics sector for the launch of its $100m fund last summer.
The $100m backing for the creation of General Motors Ventures in June made it the largest dedicated fund in the automotive industry, although peers, such as Sweden-based Volvo, have developed and expanded their units.
Global Corporate Venturing has profiled the GM Ventures unit under its president, Jon Lauckner, in the latest issue of the monthly PDF magazine after awarding it the title of most influential for its potential impact on peers and professionalism of its approach (see related content for full profile).
GM Ventures is expected to expand internationally over the next few years from the US, Lauckner said.
