Media for equity fund GMPVC has taken a 1.5% stake in MediKompass, the operating entity of patient’s medical web-services provider MediNavi .
Jointly with its media partner Regiocast, GMPVC will enable “a significant radio campaign based on infomercials in several German regions.”
Niko Waesche, managing partner of GMPVC, said: “Despite the disruptive power of the internet, only a few businesses have been able to provide truly valuable and useful web services for medical patients in Germany. MediKompass makes the strongly regulated and stakeholder-controlled medical services market more transparent for patients. Thus far MediKompass has grown without any traditional marketing, relying instead on PR, internet and word of mouth. Through our media partnership, we expect to supercharge the ramp up of MediKompass. We want to send a message to the public that even though they are living in Germany, it is possible to profit from competition in medical services.”
MediKompass operates reverse auctions for patient’s medical services. It attempts to keep costs in health care down.
