GoBalto passes test for $12m series C

US-based medical testing software developer GoBalto has raised $12m in a series C round led by Mitsui Global Investment, a corporate venturing fund owned by conglomerate Mitsui, Dow Jones reported yesterday.

Qualcomm Life, the healthcare subsidiary of wireless technology producer Qualcomm, also participated, as did Dolby Family Ventures, Aberdare Ventures, West Health Investment Fund and EDBI.

GoBalto produces software that can assist in clinical studies for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device products.

The cash will be used to boost the company’s customer service and international tech support, as well as marketing, product development and engineering, according to TechCrunch.

The company has now raised $38m in total. Qualcomm, Aberdare, West Health and Singapore state-backed EDBI participated in its $12m series B round in 2012, as well as a $5m round in March 2014.
