China-based home renovation services provider iKongJian has raised RMB216m ($31.8m) in a series C round led by retail, property and financial services conglomerate Gome Holdings Group, China Money Network has reported.
Founded in 2014, iKongJian has created an online platform that allows users to place orders for home refurbishment services. They can then remotely track the progress of the jobs from a mobile device, removing the need to be on site.
The company, which operates in 28 cities across China, said it had completed renovations in more than 12,000 apartments in 2016 and generated full-year revenue of RMB1bn.
In 2015, iKongJian closed a $21m series B round that included Greenwoods Investment, Share Capital and Shunwei Capital, a venture capital firm backed by the founder of mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi.
The 2015 funding followed an $8m series A round in 2014 in which Shunwei Capital also participated.
