Google Ventures, the corporate venturing division of search engine company Google, has joined the investment syndicate in Bazaar Labs, a US-based social media company.
Bazaar said the investment was made by Google Ventures’ Joe Kraus, who previously co-founded media companies Excite.com and Jotspot.
Kraus said: "What’s happening in the living room is changing – people are watching TV with a second screen in their laps, either holding a mobile phone, a laptop, or a tablet."
Bazaar makes a mobile device application called Miso that allows users to say what they are watching.
Google is preparing to launch its web-on-TV product later this year.
