US-based search engine Google’s corporate venturing unit helped US-based pharmaceutical research and discovery software company Wingu raise an undisclosed sum on Tuesday.
Google Ventures led the series A round, which was joined by venture firm Borealis Ventures. It emerged Google Ventures had backed Wingu in July last year.
Krishna Yeshwant, a partner at Google Ventures, said: "The pharmaceutical industry is going through one of the most dramatic transformations in its history. Wingu has created a product that will increase the speed of drug discovery, simplify the process of research team cooperation, and centralize project management. We are excited by the progress Wingu has made in a short period of time and its potential going forward."
