Google for Startups Accelerator, US-based internet technology provider Google’s three-month entrepreneur support scheme, has revealed the 15 participants in its first Southeast Asia-focused cohort.
The regional initiative was formed in June this year and targets developers of education, health, e-commerce, logistics and financial technology at seed to series A stage.
Philippines-based short-term loan provider Advance and artificial intelligence (AI)-infused staffing technology developer Rumarocket were among the batch, as was Giztix, the Thailand-headquartered creator of a comprehensive supply chain portal.
The group included software developer training programme provider Hacktiv8, AI-powered customer engagement tool developer Kata.ai and Riliv, which runs a counselling and meditation app, all of which are headquartered in Indonesia, as well as Malaysia-located property transaction software developer MHub.
Wearable medical device maker SenzeHub, customer interaction tool developer Shoplinks and telemedicine platform Smartfuture, all based in Singapore, also featured on the list, alongside medical goods platform Thuocsi.vn and recruitment portal TopCV, both based in Vietnam.
Pakistan-based companies filled out the cohort. DeafTawk is working on sign language translation technology, Sehat Kahani, operates a remote female doctor network and Walee has built an influencer-oriented e-commerce app.
