US-based mobile shopping app provider Spring has secured $25m for a series B round featuring Google Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of internet company Google, according to Business Insider.
Google was joined by Groupe Arnault, the investment firm backed by luxury goods producer LVMH, and venture capital firm Thrive Capital.
Launched to the public in August 2014, Spring’s mobile app aims to replicate the experience of browsing in a shopping centre, enabling consumers to buy products from the catalogues of 750 brands by swiping right on a product.
Spring closed a $7.5m series A round in July 2014 featuring Google Ventures that was co-led by Groupe Arnault, seed-stage venture fund BoxGroup and Thrive Capital. Lerer Hippeau Ventures and SV Angel were also among the 44 investors that participated in the series A round.
