Google sees present future in NoRedInk

NoRedInk, a US-based English grammar learning website, has raised $2m from investors including Google Ventures, the corporate venture arm of internet search firm Google, Charles River Ventures, Learn Capital, NewSchools Venture Fund and corporate venture and philanthropy firm Social+Capital Partnership.

Previously, in September 2012, NoRedInk was awarded $75,000 in NBC’s Innovation Challenge; it also raised $450,000 in seed funding from Learn Capital and Hyde Park Venture Partners.

The funding will allow NoRedInk to continue sharing its technology for free for the foreseeable future.

NoRedInk was founded by former teacher, Jeff Scheur.
